Who We Are

The Global Initiative for Africa Development (GIFAD) is a Pan-African non-governmental organization dedicated to fostering sustainable development across the African continent through strategic partnerships, innovative programs, and community engagement.

Founded in 2005, GIFAD works at the intersection of diaspora networking, democracy strengthening, peacebuilding, and humanitarian work. We believe in harnessing the collective power of African descendants worldwide to contribute to the continent’s growth and prosperity.
